By accessing or using ReadPal, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

2. Service Description

ReadPal provides picture-book capture, OCR text extraction, read-aloud playback, reading companion features, and related account/subscription services.

3. Eligibility and Account

• You are responsible for account activity and device security.
• Parents/guardians are responsible for supervising children using the service.
• You agree to provide accurate account information and keep it updated.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to misuse the service, including:

• Submitting unlawful, harmful, or infringing content
• Attempting unauthorized access, reverse engineering, or service abuse
• Using automation/scripts to disrupt normal app operation
• Violating applicable laws or third-party rights

5. User Content

• You retain ownership of content you use (for example, picture-book photos, related audio, and text).
• For locally created books, raw images, generated audio, and reading text remain on your device and are not collected by us as content files.
• You are responsible for confirming you have rights/permission to use and process content.
• You must not submit, distribute, or use copyrighted materials without authorization from the copyright owner, unless an applicable legal exception clearly applies.
• If you share books or audio generated from provided materials, you are solely responsible for obtaining all required rights and permissions.

6. Copyright and DMCA-Style Notice

• If you believe content on ReadPal infringes your copyright, you may contact us with sufficient details so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
• We may remove or disable access to allegedly infringing content and may suspend repeat infringers where appropriate.
• When required by law, we may share limited account or activity information with competent authorities or rightsholders through lawful procedures.

7. Subscriptions and Billing (Apple App Store / Google Play)

• Paid features may require a subscription purchased through Apple App Store or Google Play.
• Billing, renewals, refunds, and cancellation are handled by the respective platform according to their terms.
• Subscriptions may auto-renew unless canceled through your Apple/Google account settings before renewal.
• We may verify entitlement status with platform APIs for fraud prevention and access control.

8. Availability and Changes

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features, and may release updates to improve quality, compliance, or security. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability.

9. Privacy

Your use of ReadPal is also governed by our Privacy Policy.

10. Intellectual Property

The ReadPal service, software, branding, and associated materials are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Except as expressly permitted, you may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from the service.

11. Disclaimer

ReadPal is provided "as is" and "as available" to the extent permitted by law. We make no guarantee that services will be error-free or continuously available.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ReadPal and its affiliates are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service.

13. Termination

You may stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms, legal requirements, or abuse/security risks.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by applicable laws of the jurisdiction where the service operator is established, unless local consumer protection law requires otherwise.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use after updates means you accept the revised Terms.
